For over 20 years, I have studied natural healing and guided countless people back to health. Throughout this journey, the phrase I’ve heard most often from my clients is: “I’ve been taking this medication for 20 years, but I’m not getting any better.”
The Vicious Cycle of Stress Relief
Take stressed-out business owners, for example. To cope with the overwhelming daily pressure, many turn to alcohol or smoking. It’s an extremely common outlet—something almost anyone might do.
However, alcohol damages brain cells. It triggers a sudden spike in dopamine followed by a sharp crash, making people far more prone to depression. Have you ever seen someone who drinks suddenly fly off the handle? That happens because of changes taking place in the brain; the people around them usually aren’t to blame at all. In severe cases, people become restless and hands start trembling if they don’t drink.
The same pattern applies to chronic health conditions. People receive various prescription drugs from their doctors, but this, too, is a form of dependency—they simply can’t stop taking them.
Coffee works the same way. People feel like their brains won’t wake up in the morning without caffeine, so they gulp down bitter coffee, often loaded with sugar.
This has become a global habit—a default way of living in a high-stress society. Most people have simply given up, believing “this is just the way it is.”
Why I Was Built Differently
My perspective has always been different. Since childhood, I’ve had extreme sensitivity to chemical substances, meaning I could never take pharmaceuticals prescribed by doctors. In fact, I’ve never been to a doctor for treatment.
When I was a child and caught the chickenpox, my parents took me to a clinic. When the doctor tried to apply some mysterious brown liquid to my skin, I screamed at the top of my lungs and ran away. After that, my parents gave up on taking me to doctors. Even as a child, I was unusually wary of putting things on my skin or into my body when I didn’t know what they actually were.
On top of that, I can’t drink alcohol. Recently, I’ve stopped eating meat altogether. I never really liked meat to begin with, but more than that, I have no desire to consume animals injected with hormones and antibiotics. Milk is also out—it immediately upsets my stomach.
Given all this, stepping into the world of natural healing was the most natural path for me.
Decades of Learning and Practice
For decades, I’ve continually studied and practiced natural healing in my daily life—ranging from medicinal herbs and Traditional Chinese Medicine to folk remedies and Ayurveda. Since I am also a Shiatsu practitioner trained in correcting spinal and bone misalignments, structural balance is another strong suit of mine.
For instance, if your body feels heavy, puffy, swollen, and constantly in pain, there is a problem inside your body’s “plumbing.” If left untreated, it can lead to serious conditions like cancer.
What is cancer, really? When you live a high-stress lifestyle, your mitochondria become dysfunctional—they go rogue, turn into cancer cells, and multiply out of control.
Conventional treatment often relies on chemotherapy, which attacks human DNA and suppresses new cell division. Sure, the tumor might shrink, but what happens when cell division across your entire body is suppressed? Just take a moment to think about that.
How Natural Healing Works
Natural healing takes a completely different approach. Instead of declaring war on the body, we calm down those agitated mitochondria—essentially helping them relax.
When humans relax, the parasympathetic nervous system takes over, and homeostasis kicks in. By supporting the body with natural compounds like artemisinin and bromelain, the condition can naturally enter remission.
We introduce nutrient-dense foods, meditation, and deep breathing—remember, mitochondria love oxygen! By gently repeating these habits, both mind and body settle into deep relaxation, allowing people to heal through their own innate power.
This is the essence of natural healing. And this is the core philosophy behind the weekly Natural Healing Retreats we host at Harmony Hill Health Retreat.
